She was shortlist for the Frank O’Connor Short Story Award. The Globe & Mail described Flood as a “master” who cut’s close to the bone and mesmerizes her audience.

Fanny Bay’s own Judy LeBlanc won the 2015 Islands Short Fiction award, for her work, Senanus Island. It will keep readers engaged until its harrowing last sentence.” LeBlanc was long-listed for the 2013 CBC Short Story prize and won the 2012 Antigonish Review’s Sheldon Currie Fiction contest.
The evening will begin with three young aspiring grade 11 and 12 writers from the Comox Valley.
