ASTROPHOBIA Returns To Cumberland

The third annual Astrophobia Science Fiction and Horror Film Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14th and Sunday, Oct. 15th at the Masonic Lodge in Cumberland. The festival screens some of the best sci-fi and horror films from around the world and close to home. There will be a showing of short-film blocks in the mornings, and one afternoon feature film each day. This year they had 140 submissions from 24 different countries, and will be screening films from 9 of them. In terms of features, this year will be a screening the folk-horror classic “The Wicker Man” at 3pm on Saturday, and a Turkish film called “Once a Time in the Future 2121” (the first Turkish sci-fi feature film directed by a woman), on Sunday at 3pm.

Finally, a fun and competitive trivia night is scheduled for Saturday at 8pm. So get your team of 3 to 8 people together and come out for a night of trivia questions, beer, and prizes! Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite or at the door.
