Are you missing a bag of unsorted garbage?

It was found strewn in Jill Turk’s back yard Saturday morning in the vicinity of 6th and Derwent. Attracting wildlife by leaving garbage in a location accessible to them is not only a contravention of the Wildlife Act, it creates safety issues for us all and potentially leads to the destruction of the habituated animal.

Throughout the Village this morning, she and I both noted food garbage spread on several streets. Obviously some households are not managing their waste appropriately or keeping attractants properly secure.

Cumberland does not have a bear problem; it seems to have a people problem.
Notice all the yummy edible or at least compostable carrots in that garbage?
