Owner Pamela Tessmann is a mother of 2 children and is fully certified as a Birth Doula, an Early Childhood Educator, a Prenatal Yoga Teacher, and a Lactation Counselor. “My goals as your birth and lactation support person are to help you achieve your most desired and positive experiences as possible by helping you and your partner tap into your strengths and natural abilities. I nurture and encourage you, and help you become as informed as you feel necessary, leaving you feeling heard and empowered in your choices.” Back-up Doula Serena of Birthing Freedom is a Certified Doula through the Wise Woman Way of Birth based out of Vancouver, BC. She weaves together her diverse heritage, passion and holistic wisdom to nurture new and growing families of all ages and spectrum of choice.

As of June 10, 2020, Doulas in the Vancouver Island Health Authority region are once again permitted to attend hospital births at the Comox Valley and Campbell River Hospitals. Depending on your preference, Sound Birth Services will still provide virtual or socially distant prenatal visits and in-person labour support at your home or hospital. Doulas will wear Personal Protective Equipment and practice proper hand hygiene to keep families and themselves safe.
