Raise Funds & Awareness to Protect and Restore the Komoks Estuary
The annual Keeping It Living Campaign runs again this year to raise funds and awareness to protect and restore the Komoks Estuary.
The campaign includes a silent art auction and competition. We have had a overwhelming response from the art community and received over 60 submissions of artworks from 34 different local artists for the auction and competition. This includes Ken Kirkby, Bruce Muir, Bev Byerley, Brian Buckrell, Nana Cook and more. Our silent auction is on now until May 30th. Artworks can be viewed online at http://projectwatershed.ca/keeping-it-living-2015-gallery/ and bids can be placed at http://projectwatershed.ca/keeping-it-living-2015-auction/. The artwork will also be hung in the Pearl Ellis Gallery from the 12th to the 31st. You can bid on the artwork or vote for which one gets the People’s Choice Award at the Pearl Ellis.
On the 23rd of May 7-9pm Project Watershed are holding the Upstairs Downstairs Gala to celebrate this years campaign. Bidding and voting will take place at this time. There will also be a special live auction of juried artworks. There will be some amazing deals to be had as we are getting local businesses to match bids for the live auction. We will also be showcasing this years sponsorship package which includes limited edition prints of Andy Everson’s new estuary artwork entitled “Stillness”. It is a ticketed event that will include smoked salmon, Hollie Wood Oysters, 40 Knots Wines, Gladstone Beer. Tickets are $20 and will enter you for door prizes including an Andy Everson limited edition print, a gift certificate to Yiamas Greek Restaurant and wine from 40 Knots Vineyards.Tickets are available at the Pearl Ellis, Comox Valley Art Gallery, Project Watershed and online at www.keepingitliving.ca.
