NSMBA Trail Building Workshop comes to Cumberland!
The NSMBA is proud to announce our 2015 dates for the North Shore Builders Academy presented by Arc’teryx. The theory session teaches modern techniques to assess, build and maintain trails focused on long term sustainability and a positive user experience. Each class is followed with a practical day in the forest for hands on learning. The philosophies of the North Shore Trail Builder Academy: Respect for the environment. Long term care and development of our trails through sustainable practices. The forest is a shared resource. Positive User Experience.

NSMBA Trail Builder Academy comes to Cumberland!
Registration begins May 6th for the May 29 and 30 workshop, being presented in partnership with UROC.
The United Riders of Cumberland and the Village have joined forces to host the North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA) Trail Building workshop. This workshop seeks to teach modern techniques to assess, build and maintain mountain bike trails focused on long term sustainability and a positive user experience. The workshop will be lead by NSMBA’s Program Manager Mark Wood, who has years of experience working on trails on the North Shore of Vancouver.
Friday May 29th will feature a three hour classroom workshop in Village Council Chambers, beginning at 6:45pm. Saturday May 30th will be spent in the field applying the lessons learned the previous evening to Cumberland’s trails (location TBD).
Registration opens May 6th by calling the Cumberland Recreation Institute (CRI) at 250-336-2231. The course is free, but for insurance purposes participants must be a member of UROC. There is limited space so register soon!
