The Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department has been protecting Village residents since the streets were dirt and bucket brigades were our greatest defence. The Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department now has 30 paid on call volunteers and a full time Fire Chief. The Fire Department also issues

Cumberland Fire Rescue also coordinates the Village’s Emergency Program.

Recently our Fire Department worked alongside Comox Fire Rescue, Union Bay Fire Rescue and Ships Point Fire Department to work on certification and skills training in Rescue and Auto Extrication.  Great job to all 13 students who successfully completed their Module 3 certification in Rescue and Auto Extrication.
